Landscape Design Process
The landscape design process is important for both you, the client and Aria Landscape Design. This process ensures that we understand your needs, budget and any other pertinent information to your backyard and garden project.
Step 1 – Consultation
First, we have an on-site meeting where we will meet you at your property and discuss your landscape design project wish list. Be prepared to discuss your budgets as this will help us understand your project better.
Step 2 – Contract Documents
Once you are ready to move forward, a design contract is drafted and presented to you to engage Aria Landscape Design’s services.
Step 3 – Site Assessment
Now that we have an agreed contract we will do a more detailed site assessment. Measurements are taken, light and shade patterns are noted, drainage issues and soil conditions are assessed and plot plans or recent property surveys will be requested.
Step 4 – Design
Concept Plan
A preliminary landscape drawing will be presented to you. It will show the general layout of the site, indicating structural items such as retaining walls, pathways and garden beds. The concept plan does not include a plant list. A rough estimate of expenses will be discussed at this meeting. This is the time for minor changes to be made to the design.
Planting Plan
Once the concept plan has been finalized and approved, the planting plan is created. This will list plants with botanical and common names, as well as the size and quantity required.
Construction Drawings
Detailed construction drawings can be provided if required.
Step 5 – Installation
The contract documents are finalized which include the scope of work and project estimate.
Deposit
The amount of deposit required is project specific.
Installation
Aria Landscape Design builds to or exceeds the BCLNA Standards.
